Vladimír Staněk is a fashion designer, illustrator and graphic artist. He studied fashion design at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague and the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence (USA), as well as graphic design at the University of Arts in London. In 2011, the Museum of Decorative Arts in Prague bought his master's collection of clothing to be included in its collections. He is the only Czech designer who devotes his work exclusively to men's fashion. His portfolio encompasses both ready- and custom-made designs, as well as artistically conceived clothing and accessories collections. He has successfully worked and created under his own brand name STINAK since 2010. In 2015, the Forbes magazine included him for his work in the prestigious list of the 30 most talented Czechs under 30 years of age.
Between 2012 and 2017, he worked as the chief designer of men's collections at Pietro Filipi. His appointment marked a significant turning point in the qualitative production of this brand. Under his guidance, the company presented a series of sophisticated collections, as far as cuts and conceptual design are concerned, combining progressive features as well as a reference to the tradition. At that time, his models regularly appeared at the Mercedes-Benz Prague Fashion Week shows. Every year, Vladimír Staněk attends fairs such as Première Vision, Milano Unica and others, where he selects the best materials for his own brand.
Staněk's designs have appeared in many acclaimed domestic and foreign media such as on the pages of Vogue, ELLE, Harper's Bazaar, Esquire, InStyle, Dolce Vita magazines or in the Fashion TV. Moreover, celebrities such as actors Hugh Jackman, Orlando Bloom, Caleb Landry Jones, the brothers Kryštof and Matěj Hádek, Ondřej Gregor, Marek Taclík, singer Adam Mišík, rapper Rytmus, tennis player Tomáš Berdych, ice hockey player Patrik Eliáš, economist Tomáš Sedláček and many others have worn his models.
Since 2017, he has regularly collaborated with the Czech manufacturer ALO diamonds as a creative exhibition curator of exclusive jewellery collections. As a designer, he co-operated with companies such as GRUND and the automotive concern KIA.
Staněk balances the extensive co-operation with manufacturing and industrial companies with his focus on charity and philanthropy. Between 2011 and 2015, he cooperated with the United Nations Children's Fund UNICEF; and is also actively involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS.
Vladimír Staněk has been repeatedly awarded for his work. For example, he won the National Award for Student Design and the Triumph Inspiration Award in 2011. In 2015, he was nominated for the Czech Grand Design Award with his Searching for Love collection.
Last but not least, his latest project – the collection of luxury men's bags COAL – was released in early 2019.
